Napier is located in the Hawke’s Bay region on the northern Island of New Zealand, about 332 km northeastern of Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. Earthquakes formed the Area around Napier. The last heavy one in 1931 raised the ground about two meters, destroying Napier totally due to the generated fire.
The city was rebuilt in Art Déco Style, which was very common during theses days. It is characterized by the linear symmetry and a two dimensional design, with floral and organic motives.
